Hello everyone! I'm a long-time lurker, sometimes-poster. Like pretty much every game developer ever, I have trouble finishing games, so I decided... I'll join this shindig, make a topic, and maybe this time, I'll make it!

 

What is Spell Collector?

Spell Collector is based on a game idea I had in a dream, where you play as a newly-budding mage named Ossie. Ossie has a natural gift for spellcraft, but being only a first-year student at the Arcane Academy (name pending), her repertoire is somewhat lacking. To alleviate this, she's participating in the annual Festival of the Hungry Grimoire, where first-year students are encouraged to wander the Academy's island locale in search of scrolls and runes to fill their spellbooks with. Some of these spells have been carefully placed by faculty for eager youngsters to find. Others are inscribed on cave walls from centuries past. And still others were never meant to see the hands of mages as young as yourself, their tempting power placed in your grasp by some figure from the shadows...

 

What features will it have?

Obviously, the big thing about Spell Collector is that you collect spells. Since this little game is being made to celebrate RPG Maker's 26th birthday, it will include 26 spells to learn. While spells are primarily used in duels against other mages (many of whom you will be facing in friendly competition during the Festival), some of them are used to solve puzzles, or gain access to other areas of the island.

 

The Spell Collector also makes a very simple, but significant change to the VX Ace battle system: instead of having all of your spells available to you at once, you equip up to three spells at a time, and use only those in combat. Spells still have MP costs (though your MP regenerates over time), so picking a balanced mix of high-cost, high-effectiveness spells and efficient cleaners is essential.

 

You can also equip an accessory, which gives you access to one more action in battle. Will you choose to have another offensive option by equipping a slingshot, or do you go for the sheer versatility of the [Item] command by equipping the backpack?

I have a lot of other miscellaneous stuff planned too. Rare map encounters, summon-able companions that do battle alongside you and don't necessarily expire at the end of combat, etc. I'll post more about those as they come to fruition. I know this all sounds very ambitious, but most of the things I've posted about in this section are already complete.

RPG Maker DS+ battlers - I'm not sure who made the battlers, but the credits list those responsible for the pack as artists Archeia, EvilEagles, Tobby Ong, Caz; so to them, the credit goes.

Hello everyone! I made the game with RPG Maker MV and it is the first game I ever truly finished. There might be some fixes to be made but the newest version is going to be called a complete version of the game.

Game details:

 

Setting:

Land known as Haldornia, Capital city Easthold, Desert city of Valinnor and the surrounding areas. This world has two moons. It is relevant to the story.

 

Story:

Two characters, Leon and Jack, who'll have to gather mages for a task of utmost importance. They have to stop the Moonfall. Evil cult known as the Order of the Revenant have brought the end of the world at our doorstep. They made the moon fall. In my other game, Haldornia, the heroes are pursuing the Order when they find out about their plan. In that story they are told about an ancient machine that creates gravitational pulses that keeps the other moon from falling to the earth. That moon is known as the Traveler. Long ago for reasons unknown, a moonlike object was speeding towards our planet. Back then the people were not so advanced as they are today. History from those days are scarce and incoherent. But scholars of today have found out that people of that time got help from sources that are still under debate. Only one thing is clear. The machine that holds the moon in the sky is not from this world. 

 

The point is, the otherwordly machine has a power source. The Order of the Revenant found the machine and stole the power source. They found out about this from their leader, an undead sorcerer king of the days past. Apparently he was in some way associated with the events of the Traveler that was going to obliterate our planet. He didn't agree with the other leaders and went to war. He lost that war and his soul was cursed forever. Unknown to the other leaders of that time was that the Order had a way to bring back life... in a way. To this day the undead sorcerer has plotted against the people of Haldornia and just lately he found the machine. In the game Haldornia, the heroes went after them but got locked up in their prison..

 

After a while the people who knew about the moon's falling made up a plan. And that is what this game is about. You must collect all the mages you can find, and blast the moon with so massive magical power that has never seen before.

 

 

Story driven adventure, only a little of fighting. There's only one fight. There will be a time limit in the game. Within that time you must get enough people to follow your cause, but the thing is that you will never know what's enough until the very end. This game has a secret ending! Can you find it?

Progress so far:

 

First day of the event was absolutely amazing. I got this great idea and jumped into the Rpg Maker MV and started making what I had in mind. I was staring the screen literally nonstop for about 9 hours straight I think. 5 minutes of gameplay was all I managed to get done but I think it looks good. 

 

I got an idea for the project from my other larger project that is still in progress, named Haldornia. (Which is the name of the land also.) I hadn't figured out the ending for it yet but with this event I started thinking about how I could fit Haldornia's story into this game and I came up with this idea: The game I'll make for this game making challenge happens from another viewpoint. In Haldornia the heroes are supposed to stop a certain event from happening. But they get into trouble along the way and the people can't just sit by and let the upcoming event occur. So that is what this new game is all about. The people can't trust their heroes to do what they were meant to do and come up with a desperate plan to try and stop the event before it happens. That means this game will happen simultaneously with the final hour of the events of Haldornia game.

 

I made some finishing touches on the beginning of the game, which I love, just can't stop playing it again and again. :D I started making the capital city in a lot smaller scale than it is in the other game. Haldornia is being made with Rpg Maker VX Ace by the way, so I had to copy the world map tile by tile to MV. It's still not quite done but we are getting there. The point in my new project is not to go so far away from the capital city though so I can focus on a much smaller area of the world map so I won't worry about that too much. And I think that is about all I've made so far. I think I've made pretty good progress.

Progress update: Feb 17, 2016

 

Today I did a lot of work on the capital city (Easthold) I added some simple quests and one fight that where consequences vary on if you win or lose. There wont be a lot of fighting in the game, as it will be a story driven adventure, and i was thinking about adding only a couple of fights.

 

I'll try to do as varied quests as I can, as there is one main quest you have to achieve and to do that you will have to convince a lot of people to join your cause to succeed. Some people might just join you when you tell them what's going on. Some need a little more work to add them to your troops. 

 

Main plot of the game focuses on mages. You will need a lot of mages. That's what you'll be gathering in the game. All the mages you can find. I will tell you later what you need them for but it's big. 

 

Progress update: Feb 18, 2016

 

I pretty much finished the exterior of the Capital city Easthold. Interiors are about 50 percent ready. I've been doing some adjusting of the events and the timer checking. (Yes, there is a time limit from the beginning of the game and yes you will instantly fail it reaches zero.) There is a cutscene where something bad happens to everyone and it's game over.

 

I've been doing more npcs and to interact with everyone you must in some cases talk to someone else before you can talk to them and some need special items to unlock specific dialogue and areas. There will be a secret ending in the game and you must do a lot of work if you were to get it in the end. 

 

Progress update: Feb 19, 2016

 

Today I got 100 percent of the interiors of Easthold done. Next thing I'm doing is an underground area and then I have another city and two small towns to make. I don't want to rush anything so I'll just make the places as good as I can but I have to see how much really can be done in the game within one hour, without just skipping trough all the conversations. The other city might have a lot less to do than the capital city. Maybe most of the city is closed down because of monsters attacking from the desert. I'll probably go with that.

 

I added more npcs and some quests. This project is going to involve a lot of testing to see how all of the different outcomes in quests fit together. Making the ending is going to be fun because there will be several possible endings. 

 

Progress update: Feb 21, 2016

 

I made lot of progress with npcs and quests. Gameplay length to do everything goes to about 20 to 30 minutes.

 

Progress update: Feb 23, 2016

 

Easthold is ready! I've added all the npcs and quests and all the interiors are complete! There still might be some tweaking to do but I'll have to test it out some more. I built the ending scenario already, where the outcome depends on the amount of mages gathered. Now to make the other city...

 

Progress update: Feb 25, 2016

 

Next I started to make the city of Valinnor. It's in the edge of  the deserts, where all sorts of evil creatures lurk. Valinnor is the guardian city of the rest of the Mainland, as the only way to get to the desert and back is trough Valinnor. The way is otherwise blocked by a huge wall of mountains.

 

Progress update: Feb 26-29, 2016

 

Past few days have been slower. I finished Valinnor exterior, made some npcs and started working on the interiors and chose some music and plugins that work well with my game. 

 

Progress update: Mar 1-8, 2016

 

This week was just polishing, polishing and some more polishing, making sure that everything works, all that yada yada. I linked the download for the beta version of the game.

 

Progress update: Mar 9-10, 2016

 

Making some fixes, editing some small parts of buildings and such. Tuning out some stuff. I also updated the screenshots just now.

 

Progress update: Mar 11, 2016 GAME COMPLETED

 

Did the finishing touches on the game and now it is complete! There might be some minor things that need fixing but the newest version is 1.0 This is the first game i finished! I hope everyone likes it :)

Lemuria - WIP Download

Gmail and Fallout conspired to steal a week from me, but there's no time like now. I just have the name so far. The name refers to a hypothetical "lost continent" that was thought up in the 19th century to explain where lemurs came from. Just a bit of interesting backstory on the name I thought I'd share. The name is also used in Indian and Occult writings, though I didn't feel like looking up that connection. Just to clear things up, I'm just using the name to refer to a place on Earth with fantastic creatures but without invoking the tropes normally associated with Atlantis.

Now then...

 

After winning the lottery, you bought a yacht and went sailing. Everything was going well until the storm. You woke up on the beach, sore all over. Now you have to survive until you're rescued. And did I mention the weird noises coming from the jungle?

In the not so long past, there was a war between Demons and the Great Deity which led to the destruction of the planet.  Time as past and the light is slowly fading from the world and magic is no longer used within the world. Enter you, the person player guy, a person that's just a person, decides to buy a cat.  Little did the person know that the cat was able to use something called magic, and then they went off on a adventure and did stuff...

This project took about three weeks to make. It was also made but one person, he put a lot of time and dedication into it so it would be done before the contest deadline.

But above all, it is a simulation game. A simulation of making games, but also of living your life. Surviving, even. How far will you go to make the Best Game in the World?

Want to hear a story?  There'll be cake~

 

The world is full of adventures just waiting for the right people to take them on.  Some pit the heroes against a cruel tyrant.  Some drag adventurers through deadly deserts to face dragons, or worse.  Adventures that make for great tales to tell friends over a pint at the pub.

 

And then there is the one that involves cake.  And zombies.

Join Silvia and Alex, two less-than-stellar adventurers, on a mission to end a town's undead torment.  Enter a demon king's castle (or maybe it's just the home of an eccentric homebody) and find the source of the menace: a truly evil cake.  Explore the castle, fight zombies, and figure out how to stop this (possible) apocalypse!

Since my original birthday bash project got too large, I asked for it to be moved to the development thread. But that doesn't mean I've given up on the event. In the last three days I'll be making a small adventure game. Sasha and Sir Plutarch's fabulous Rmventure! tells the story of a girl wanting to make her first rm game but needing a team in order to accomplish it. Your goal is to guide her by solving simple puzzles and interacting with the town's citizens.

The Story of Sole Survivor is about a man called Mathieu, who survived a nuclear war in a vault with his wife. After the death of his wife, he spent three years alone, without going outside. Each days looks all the same, Matthieu lose the hope to see his daughter again.Then one day ,a man found the vault. He was chased by some people who wanted to kill him. He start to begged mathieu to let him hide himself into the vault. But, did he say the truth ? Mathieu must make a choice. Must he open the door, or must he let him outside ?

At this moment, the Gameplay is basic, some little mission to make, but the story is the real thing about this game. So you will not have a lot of battle, and there will be a lot of drama here!I The point of this game, is the separation between Science and Faith.

Hi All!

I've finished a few games before this one but this will be the first game that I'm uploading for people to play! I hope you like it!

Description:

You are Veggie! It's been a while since Veggie has visited the dentist and Veggie is going to have to have a tooth pulled on him! Don't worry though, the dentist will give Veggie some nice, strong sedatives so he doesn't have to worry about the pain... He does however have to worry about how he is getting home!

You guide Veggie through perilous adventures in order to get him home safely! Be careful though, Veggie doesn't only have to fight terribly scary monsters but he must safely navigate through areas that are literally falling apart, and somewhere along the way you may even be able to stop for a minute to see a mystical band play a live song!

Okay!

I was working as fast as I could and I've managed to quickly write a game!

 

NOTE: This game was made in 6 hours, so don't mind silly mechanics, graphics and the general quality. I'll improve this later.

This is a simple game, where your objective is to 'sacrifice' yourself to 'pop' the blocks. When the blocks are hit, then they're breaking into particles, that can hit other blocks creating a chain reaction.

You simply need to get as much points as possible, the bigger the chain will be, the more score you'l get.

So for this event, I'll be doing something completely different to the usual fare of RPG games. From the title, you may have already guessed what that is - yes, it's a clicking game! With a cake!

By clicking the cake that appears in the middle of the screen, the player will "bake" a cake. After a few cakes have been "baked", the player can then unlock time-limited power-ups which boost the player's "baking" capabilities, even when they are not actively "baking". However, continuous maintenance of these power-ups are required to obtain an optimal score.

 

 

How to Play

Simply click on the cake! As you obtain more points (from clicking on the cake, yes), boosters will be unlocked. Click on boosters to have them automatically add points. Be careful though - boosters run out after a period of time! Keep them active by also clicking on them!

 

 

Features

ENDLESS

- The game never ends. Scores can be compared along with playtime.

 

HIGH SCORE

- The game ends after the 2-minute mark, and scores can be compared against other players to see who scored the most in the given amount of time. 

 

Gameplay length will vary, depending on the player. Average is probably to be around 15 minutes.

Background info!

The M3 Adventures is a game series i'm working on involving me (Peter) and my two sisters and our random ridiculous adventures. "Random quest" is an adventure where Peter's new game "Dragon's Den" has a bug that become sentient trapping the M3 in inside and the only was out is to battle through all 25 randomly generated levels! But the M3 are not alone! Peter was able to create cards that call on the Data Codes of every character or person who has enter his games! With the power of the Data Cards and the will to win can the M3 get out of the game?

New Info!

The Bug in Dragon's Den has revealed itself... Correction Herself! Orchid, a strange Bio-Program has taken over the game! What are her motives? Why does she call Lily "Sister"?

 

Data Cards

As said before Peter created Data Cards to assist himself and his sisters in the Dungeon. After Orchid forcibly separates the M3, the newly created Data Cards and Data shops will come in handy! The Cards each have the Bio-Code of one character. Use of that card then creates a Data Replica of that Character to join your Party. Collect the Characters you like the best and train them up to defeat the Dragon and escape the trap Orchid has place you in!

These characters have various meanings to The M3. Some are real life friends, others friends on the internet, and still other created in dreams! No matter who they are lets hope they can help!

 

The Finished Product!

I have finally finished (hopefully in time)! It took a lot. But it was worth it. A few personal complaints due to my own neglect there isnt any background music on the maps (at least i don't remember putting any). Also The Bosses might be a bit strong. I believe its still enjoyable though. The link will take you to my G-Drive folder it has 3 versions: Windows. Mac, and Web. the Windows definitely works. I don't know about the mac version though. I finished made my first RPG Games called Hyper Fox RPG: The Great Sorcery

 

Long time ago, Hyper defeated Evil Flippy with Phazon Beam and All Phazon are gone for good.
One generation later, The two alien named Omo and Nue landing on Mystic Meadow to seek the Great Sorcery aka Hypzon.
Omo and Nue are the Orgaragus Bros. Hyper and his friends going adventure to Mystic Forest, but suddenly Hyper is seen by Omo and Nue, The Orgaragus Bros are not happy to see him and his friends and gonna to capture them, so Hyper and Friends run away from The Orgaragus Bros then ride hot air balloon to travel to the road of Magus Forest.
Who will become a Hypzon Warrior?

Hello! This is the first game I've ever made on rpg maker. It is definitely fun to learn.

 

Escape From Ruenia

 

An excerpt from a larger story, this is the tale of 3 citizens of another nation, and their journey to escape back

home to fix much larger issues. They befriend a pretty eccentric young lady, and have multiple run ins with a

very odd gentleman. While a mostly serious story, there are things to lighten the mood.

Light: A fairly serious man, that only wants to get things done so he can stop having to deal with everyone

else's problems. He is focused on dealing raw damage and uses hand to hand weapons.

 

Klaus: Klaus is very talented but always seems to end up the butt of the joke. He uses a lance and tends

to bolster his team mates.

 

Harmony(Harm): The princess of the home nation, Harm needs aid in escaping Ruenia. She quickly becomes

her own force to be reckoned with, as her healing capabilities are unmatched and her intelligence is high.

 

Rebecca: Rebecca is... well you'll find out. She's spunky and not afraid to show it. Her rifle skills are top notch

and she can definitely put it to use.

Using Gems to learn abilities, take advantage of finding enemy weaknesses. Main elements are Soldiery, Wilding, Fire

Thunder, and Ice. Charge turn battle and predefined row formations meet, and you'll have to play to each character's

strengths and abilities.
